    Wip Gnoll Sacred Stones

    Started this.

It's going to be a Gnoll sacred site.

The idea for the map came form a single though of how rad it would be to drop on to an enemy from Stonehenge.

Aside from having to do the waterfall (which I've never done before) I need to figure out how to get the bluff to appear on the same level as the megalith stones. I put height markers in there just to help understand the distance we're working with.

Suggestions welcome cause i'm going to need them.

If you're using shadows then any two objects with similar shadow lengths are similar heights. If not you can lower the saturation and even add a 1 pixel blur to the lowest section of the map, so anything above that will appear at similar heights. Good luck!

    Wip

This was frustrating me so much that I just stopped working on it all together.

Last I had a moment of clarity, and I wanted to give it a shot.

So if you recall from the first post I wanted to try to create a height difference between the plateau and the megaliths without having them look like they were on the ground.

After screwing with the outline of the original rock slabs I had I came up with this.

I think it kind of gives me the feel I'm looking for but not perfectly.

I need to clean up the outlines a bit and fix the transition between the grass and the megaliths 'legs' but I think i'm heading in the right direction.

As always comments are welcome. madcowchef, I think I'll go in later and do that blur atleast along the area where there won't be action happening and where the waterfall will eventually be.

Didn't save the work in that last post apparently.

to did my best to redo it.

Think I've got it, now i just need to work on the waterfall, and make it look less like an after thought.
