i really love the idea you have and the colors are great so far, I can't wait to see a full lizard city!
My hometown is a suburb of Hamburg, Germany, and I want to turn it into Bolon, the capital of Latalland, a tropical island nation of lizard people. So a boring central European environment needs to be transformed into an exotic tropical scenery. So far I started with the groundwork and layed down the street grid. Along the little river that flows through the city there will be the royal palace gardens full of exotic animals. In the south east we have a power plant. I think I'll turn it into some kind of science/magic academy with lots of myseterious smoking chimneys.
Let's see what I'll make of other real world places or street names like "Bee's Manor", "Gallow Hill", "Fox Hedge" or "Carrion Alley"...

I totally underestimated the amount of houses that need to go into a city like this and I can say for sure that I won't be able to finish this map in time. So I'm withdrawing this entry from the competition.
I unfortunately understand your problem, I've underestimated projects before and sometimes even though you have time enough, things happen that changes that. Hope to see you in the next challenge

Regardless, it's a very thoughtful rework. ^^ I hope to see it finished some time.
My website (commissions open)
My LinkTree (to find me everywhere)
It bugs me most because it's a task that I proposed myself...
But I'll definitely finish the map, just not in time.
It's a pity; I've been to Hamburg a couple of times and was courious to see your results. I'll be looking forward to see them once you finish the map
That's as far as I got.
So. Many. Houses...

Sorry to read that.
Still, it's a really fun concept and I'd like to see it finished someday !
Sorry about that I have the same problem, I have so many buildings yet to be drawn in my map... Although, one thing that helped me save some time was downloading the shapes of the buildings of my city from OpenStreetMap. Maybe you can do the same I too hope to see your map finished!
