Nice idea! Welcome to the challenge.
Let's give a try to this!
I traveled around south america few years ago, and I discovered a very amazing endemic species of bees, the tetragonisca angustula, also called Angelita.
A friend of mine is holding an association in Colombia who try to protect them: Angelitas are innofensive, very tiny, and create one of the best medecinal honey in the world.
I also do this map to send it to him at the end, as a small present to thanks what they in Colombia.
For this challenge, I wan't to draw a map of the angelitas repartition in south america.
I wish I'll have the time to complete it before the end!
Here is the first draft:

I spent my day drawing and watercoloring and here is the result. I won't be able to push further for lack of time, so this is my final version:

Dang, that's really great looking. Very intricate!
Oo, very nice. From the thumbnail I thought it's a giant locust swarm infestation map, but I guess bees are cool too. ;D
These look like they borrowed a body part from a dragonfly. So I guess in some other area of the world there are fuzzy, striped dragonflies.

It's just the right mixture of rough and precise, wonderful!
