    Here's a version of the Middle-earth map but converted to tinted and grayscale.

    Not sure which version is better but it's a good idea to test this when converting to grayscale.

    It light also be a good idea to convert certain layers separately - depending on the colors. The title for example get a bit too dark in the lasy examople.


    Made with the grayscale tool in Photoshop (with a tint):

    I prefer the first one, the contrast is better imo.

    I'm a vector fan so I love the mountains. I found that when I did this style in vector I needed 3 tints to really make them pop. The lightest tint was the complementary colour of the background.

    Some more stuff in Illustrator. the goal is to get a nice style that look a bit hand painted. For a sort of poetic map.

    I am not satisfied so far - but I know how to solve the problems. The mountains are ok for now.

    Nice work @Carnifex. I was curios to know, have you done any "extensions" on middle earth maps? I havn't seen that yet. It's probably in the realm of fanfiction though.
