That's looking good Dan. I like that you have smaller hills in there too.

Hey Dan ... ehm ... Lord Harewood, i thought of the God-Empresses realm as a kind of "slumbering danger" for the surrounding countries. Having a sharp eye (through agents, etc.) on her neighbors, just waiting for a moment of weakness (or even encouraging them to make the "right" decisions). I thought about the quite long border dividing our realms. A large part is along the river, which is a good "natural" and thereby maybe relatively stable border. More to the east i have some territory on "your" side of the river. Maybe it stems from an invasion into the (now fallen and occupied) 17. Duchy? As always, some of the people would have gladly welcome the new rulers, most are indifferent, and others are plotting for a rebellion...

It's just an idea, that came to my mind while thinking about the history of the border and our neighborhood. Would love to hear what you think about it or if you have other ideas.
Your mountains and hills look really great. First i thought they're stamped, but some of them just look very similar, kudos!
Btw. your new Ligatu(u)r Avatar is very lovely!
    Cheers,

    Thank you both!

I've started coloring the mountains and tried out a forest style. I kind of like how the forests are looking right now.

Looking great. I think the forest have a charm to them, I quite like them. Did you draw each and every tree individually?

Out of curiosity, what background texture are you using?

The trees fit perfectly in imo with the hills and mountains, was actually thinking of the same/similar thing for my map. Just a question similar to Joshias; are you using individual tree brushes or have one awesome one that circulates through a couple of pre-made trees? I'm asking since yesterday I spent unsuccessfully 2 hours trying to make a good tree brush

I drew a roundish group of 5 or 6 trees first. First outlines and shades and then on a separate layer the color. I merged those into one layer. Then I just copied that group and pasted it a couple of times to build up forests. After that I have solid chunks with a repetitive pattern. I just grabbed a couple trees with the lasso tool and moved them around to break the pattern and give the idea that the forests is spreading out and getting less dense. Hope that helps!

As for the background texture. It's a texture I found online somewhere but I have not idea where. If you want I can attach it with the next update.

The mountain ridgelines are a bit repetitive but overall it looks lovely! I like that you're consistently letting the lines become dots, instead of fading or narrowing, it's an interesting look
