Nice to have you in it, and a very nice start.
Looks very moody and dark on those seas. Land looks nice.
Well I'm very late to this party but I finally managed to carve out enough time to start working on my map for this project. My concept for the map is still pretty sketchy, but I'm playing around with the idea of this area being a icy tundra inhabited by migrating indigenous tribes of humanoid creatures. Perhaps there will be a political center or two, don't know, but right now I'm leaning to sticking mostly with regional names for the map.
Cheers,

Yep, good to have you aboard!
As J said, you've got a real interesting start and I'm liking the folded paper look a lot! The shadowyness of the oceans and the mountains definitely make it a little eerie and creepy. I look forwards to where you take it!
Oh man, this is ALREADY epic.
Wow, great impressive start! Already worth the wait .
On a side note, I'm wondering if we used the same paper texture (with different settings, but still...). That would be awesome!
I used this : paperT.jpg
Great work, Love the mountains.

Thanks J. That's what I was going for.
Thanks GLS, nice to finally join in.
Do you mean the mountain ranges? For those I used a slightly modified version of a method outlined by Waldronate on comment #70 of my Eriond tutorial thread. However, instead of importing the mountains and hills layers into Wilbur separately and then adding elevation to them, I created the heightmap ahead of time. As you can see, it need not be very clean. Wilbur will do the heavy lifting for you in this regard; just run the height map through quite a few stages of erosion (as to how to do this, Waldronate has several tutorials on the topic, and I've touched on it as well in my Eriond tutorial).

Wow, thanks man!
Thank you Ilanthar. I'm using one of CoyoteMax's textures. It looks similar to the one you posted only darker and with a few more stains:
