    Default *** Sep/Oct 2014 Lite Challenge: Map a Lake ***

This month's Challenge idea comes to us from Ghostman:

There are no other restrictions; go crazy!

    As always:

    1. Don't forget to title your thread like this: September/October 2014 Lite Challenge: (your title would go here)

    2. PLEASE don't forget to put this tag above/in front of any work-in-progress pictures: ### Latest WIP ###
If you don't, the thumbnail scraper won't pick up your entry and it won't show up when it's time to vote. I just noticed that we actually had an 11th entry last month, but it didn't make it onto the poll because it didn't have the WIP tag, and I didn't catch it when it came time to put the poll together.

The contest will run until the 14th of October, after which we'll have three days of voting. The winner will get a lovely silver compass and a loud huzzah!

I have an idea for this one. It's an idea I toyed with years ago, well before I ever joined the guild. It will be a complicated series of renders, but if I can manage to pull it off, I think it will look really cool. I will work on it over the next few days and see if I can get things headed in the right direction before I start posting anything because, gosh darn it, I want to finish a map one of these days.

Hmm. That's convenient... I was just thinking about working on the Sky Lake anyway. I'll have a go!

Hrrm... don't know why I had the contest ending 17th October, when as we all know it should end on the 14th, which is tomorrow. Fixed.

So - our contest will end TOMORROW evening, probably around 9PM Pacific time, so if you have any last-minute changes, get 'em in now.

Oh, I love to vote in these contests! We can always keep up with some new techniques and see good creations. Let's wait for that!
