Aug / Sept 15 Lite Challenge: Mapping Icons Set

These buildings are looking fantastic Barek, great job! I also like those lovely details, they make the buildings very lively (especially the little "Kohlenklappe" of the Inn ) My first thoughts about the signpost were: "well, thats very useful for keeping the isometric drawing on track!" Looking forward to see more of them.

@Abu Laifa Thank you for the nice comment. I also enjoy thinking about small details and where I could squeeze something extra in. And I wish I thought about that (with the signpost) before. But I work with an iso grid in the background (cheater).

@Bogie Uf, it really is. But I enjoy doing it. And I improve in speed rapidly. The first one took me 7-8 hours. The one I am submitting now only around 4

So an update, the third element is here. It is a small guard/scout outpost. With this one I added some quick shading to see how it works. Also still need to make the changes on the inn, just didnt have any more energy to do that today.

Looking really good! I like that the logs on the upper floor of the guard hut are 'sharpened' to points. That's a nice touch!

I can't pretend to know enough of isometric illustrations to give you any constructive input, but I can tell you that I think these are great! Well done, and thanks for sharing these with us! Have some rep.

So the last two icons had a lot of paintbrush lines and were very detailed. Since this is also a learning exercise I decided to try out a bit of a different style and did the next icon mainly using some ink brushes and very basic shading.

So here is the newest WIP where a tower joins the previous icons.

I like the style, but I have to admit, it's pretty hard to believe great stone pods cantilevered off a tower. The weight alone ....
