I think Joe Pesci scared everyone away!

If time allows I'll get in on it. I started a map a few days back, then WHAM... work.
I thought there would be a bunch already with such a great theme.

Is it possible to make the contest run longer to let more people participate?

I have nothing against the theme, but no interesting "pulp" ideas have sprung to mind. I realized that most of the sci-fi and fantasy I've read falls outside the period. There was also a lot of discussion of what would and would not qualify, and withholding votes from anything not pulpy enough...which is, I guess, fairly normal for this contest...but still made me a little hesitant about what pulp idea to pursue. Also, after having spent so much effort in December on the previous contest, I was feeling a little burned out. Maybe others are feeling the same way, and need a few weeks to re-charge.

So, speaking only for myself, after a few days of fruitlessly researching pulp stuff and casting about for an idea that would inspire me, I decided I might as well let this challenge cycle pass me by and be ready for the February event.

Probably not. The whole idea of these Challenges is make them challenging - to be given a brief and then finish it in the designated amount of time.

Doesn't seem like there's too much interest in this idea, so there's not much point in extending it anyway.

Interest is here, though time is lacking. Ah well, I'm trying a quick one to add another entry

I'm just not as familiar with the subject matter as with other things so I haven't been able to think of anything to map. But then I suppose some mapping challenges will be like that and that is OK.
My new Deviant-thing. I finally caved.

I feel you, Larb. I realized I hadn't read much that would be considered pulp.

Keep in mind that "pulp" refers only to the paper on which stories were printed. Here are some examples of pulp fiction that might make you think twice about "I"ve never read much of it..." and maybe give you some ideas.

@chick - Based on the comments earlier in the thread, I think a great many of those would be judged "not pulp" by the voters.
