Well, how about everyone that wants to participate could submit a symbol of some kind like a tree, a building, a piece of a road, a creature, a mountain, a river section, a crevasse, a hill...whatever you can think of...then have them made into brushes for photoshop and gimp. Then distribute them for free to the guild. Then the next monthy challenge would be to make a map using as many of those symbols as you could.

Though I admit I am not sure how to make a brush out of something in photoshop or gimp but I'm sure someone does.

EDIT...wow, a lot of ninja'd responses while I posted this. I think I like SteffenBrands idea better.

I'm actually going to close this thread since its actually a month early. Thank you all so much for the early well wishes. We're going to cook up something special for next month and will announce it soon. Sorry to build up all this tension. Lol

First suggestion which comes to mind: How about we make a celebration map? Define the outline / landmarks of a map, divide it in tiles and give everyone who wants a part in it one tile. He can do this one in his own style. Put it all together and have a Guildmap! Additionally, the creator of the initial outlines could keep the shape secret, revealing what it is to everyone at the same time.

Oh yeah, great idea Steffen, count me in for this too. I also like the idea of a "congratulatory challenge". I remember browsing through some entries from the last "map the guild" challenge (iirc THW's "Guild Park", Azelor's "Guild Galaxy" and Max's "Guild Tower" were all fantastic and fun). In the end, i think there is no problem with more than one "present"
