I like it without the borders. Looks great. Stylistically I think it works better here. And since this is already your second map and the first one already has borders, there really is no need for them here.

Thanks folks! It turned out quite a bit better than I expected it would. I thought about putting a key in there, but I think it's fairly obvious what each of the 4 icons are: big city > small city > fortress > temple/monastery.

Awesomeness in concentrated form I don't think you need a key for the icons either. Is that my fortress and temple gate by the way, that you colored? Feel like I recognize them
