Wip Map 8 - The Halfings last refuge: Shireland

Map 8 - The Halfings last refuge: Shireland

I have not come up with any other names yet, but my first idea is a take off of the Forgotten Realms island of Evermeet, the Elven Refuge/Homeland.. But, since my username "Bogie" is the name used for Hobbits in the parody "Bored of the Rings", instead of Elves, these islands will be the Hobbit Homeland.

HAHA!...Well done. Nice backstory for your land. I and J.Edward know how much Hobbits like to eat, especially things like Cheese, so I'm watching my borders in case of a hobbit invasion. My minotaur warriors don't like to eat hobbits, they get stuck in their teeth

Azuredawn, your coastal neighbor to the west recognizes and remembers Boril and Harold. Two esteemed hobbit graduates of the Cartographers' Guild.

We Hobbits do love cheese, and mushrooms, and rolls with butter. But, while we might acquire the random cheese wheel or bowl of mushrooms that someone may have lost in their panty, we would never invade your land for something we can barter for. I happen to have a couple barrels of fine longbottom pipeweed, we should talk.

Yes, two great Hobbits of renown! There may be a tavern or two named after them.

Thanks Lingon, not my usual map, but I will give it a try. For the terrain texture I am using a grunge map I downloaded from Deviant Art.

I think I'm going to have to get a boat loaded up and ready to sail - you need some cheese, and I need some of that longbottom pipeweed

Hobbits love a good party and can hold their drink - so I'm expecting you'll have more than cordial relations with your southern neighbour, Valpolicella! Wine for psychotropic flora seems like an excellent trade exchange

I have no idea how to make or what style of mountains I should use.
This was my first attempt at some mountains using photoshop Bevel Emboss tool. Comments, Critiques, ideas?
