ID:	84578### Latest WIP ### After a couple comments that this might fit into the theme of the challenge, I'll go ahead and enter this months challenge and just let the chips fall where they may.

This is on an Indian Reservation in the Grand Canyon, USA, 10 mile hike in and out. Beautiful waterfalls through these canyons and some strange marking hidden along the way. (don't look yet, they will appear in a later post)

Comments welcome, wanted to do a more subtle coloring to this top down map, than what I've been doing. No too happy with the line weight variation, will work on that.

Great start Snodsy ! There is a sly variation between a top down view and au angle perspective, do you work with a photograph take by plane ? Love the work on the subtle color and the shading. Strange science fiction hidden marking ?

Yes this isn't a true top down, I wanted to give it a little more dimensional feel. Yes I use Google Maps and Google Earth to help with scale of elements and then improvise from there. One of things I like about doing real places is that it helps me understand how to draw these elements - cliffs, pathways down cliffs, how river connect, so in the future I have a better understanding in drawing. Thanks for the comments.

It's looking good, and I'm glad you decided to enter this into the challenge. I should have thought to suggest that myself!

Not sure where the Inset Map goes, not happy with it as is. Comments welcome, a little more highlights and details.

    This is looking awesome snodsy.
Are you saying that you're not happy with where the inset is?

yeah I've tried it in multiple places and moved title around as well, but nothing I like yet.

I need to add labels and probably more vegetation up the valleys. The perspective of the lower area across from the cave is a little weird, I'll fix that. Almost there. There are now a few ancient/alien petroglyphs.
