Thanks Ladiestorm, appreciate that you like them. I think I'm going to try to develop this into a series of 5 drawings.

Each will vary in it's habitat, but all 5 will have roughly the same layout of buildings, format, title area, and stream and water (although water may become another element--for example, a dried up creek bed or sand dunes for a dry environment).

The 5 now are; Fishing Village -- DONE, Swamp Village -- WORKING, then Pioneer or American Indian Village in a FOREST, Cliff Dwellers in a GORGE, a communities nomads- Yurts in a TUNDRA, maybe another DESERT scene. At least thats the plan now. Thanks again.

    Wip

Update on swamp, lot to do, lighting/shadows will be critical (misty - long shadows, streak lighting thru the trees? Not sure if I can pull it off, we'll see. I'll be adding more stuff underwater (maybe a skeleton or two?)

This is magnificent Snodsy ! My only remark would be that you could smoothen the shadows a little bit. As it is, we can see the brush strokes.

Lovely work snodsy, it has a great swampy mood! Also, thanks for keeping it more historically undefined. Can't wait to see the other pieces of that series you're planning. Keep up the great work!

    Aw man, I love these.
Why is there a little white line along the roof of some of the buildings?
I like that giant lizard lurking beneath the surface of the water.

Thanks guys appreciate the comments and will work on those items you mentioned. Yeah there will be more creatures in the water, not a place for an afternoon dip.

Really nice! great idea with the gradient effect! maybe you should uniform the shadows, they are too blurry in my opinion

Thanks Tom, I've worked on the shadow for the Forest cleaned them up on this one. Not sure what else to add to the Forest Scene - Comments welcome. Not sure if the swamp is where I want it may come back to it after I work on others. Tundra starts today with Yurts as houses. Click image for larger version.

These are beautiful and the shadows are really subtle. Nice job and definitively rep-worthy !
