August/Sept 2016 Lite Mapping Challenge: The Cauldron

Hi All,

First post and first challenge. Sorry i forgot to do WIP pics! Any feedback greatly appreciated!

This map is an arena called The Cauldron. It's a big fighting pit cut into desert rock, and part of an area ruled by a Provost, who attends and oversees the fights from his high box cut into the top of the rock.

Inspired by Red Rocks amphitheater, which is my favorite venue for just about anything!

Got to echo ladiestorm there on the lovely colour scheme you've kept to here.

I'm not a huge fan of the way you've done the market plaza, but otherwise your linework looks very impressive, especially the all those rock formations. A great entrance to the Guild!

great cliffs, no better than great cliffs!

probably don't need key, just put the few labels you have on the map itself. Any structures in the Market?, main gate a little more elaborate? pathway a little more texture or less white? not much, think it looks really nice, the coloring on the red rocks is really nice, especially the top middle one. Nice job, Check your shadows.
