Any Town Icon Tips?

Hmm, still... what about the outline? The thickness? or you mean shape of whole image always forms triangle?

This is what i could do paint in quickly. I seem to fail choosing right brush for that. Are you using default hard brush ? Also how are you people draw straight lines with tablet i never know. Especially diagonal lines are my weakness, i always make a curve.

Honestly, that looks quick decent. And truth to tell here, had draw art like this looks more authentic with lines like yours vs perfect straight stuff. Now.. if you really want straight lines.... well change your tool. GIMP or PS both have a feature where you click(but don't let up) and then hold down shift(I THINK, it's been a LONG TIME), and then move to where you want to end the line and click(and let go of shift)... boom.. perfectly straight line. However, I don't think you need it.

Ok, my opinion on your icons. They look great! It is the kind of thing I have wanted to do but I have no idea how to color something like that in to get that effect. Love it!

I really like those icons. I was looking for different ways to depict cities on larger area maps and was wondering if there is a "rule" what kind of perspective you may want to use for such icons, depending on your map style.

While an isometric view is most common (as the examples above) you could quite feasibly use a one-point perspective, two-point perspective or even three-point perspective. Given it is a map each icon would have its own vanishing point, as opposed to have a global one for the entire map.

What perspective do you generally prefer for your maps and what kind of feelings would you associate with the different options? Is there a reason against using anything with a vanishing point?
