Default A trip into the galaxy

    Hey there!
i'm having fun with space art lately and i've the project to try a space map showing a galaxy and a few solar systems, maybe to describe a ship trip through the galaxy.
Iv'e almost finished the galaxy layer, and i'm now trying to include various solar system zoom, still thinking about how to nicely merge those zooms with the main galaxy view.
    here's a wip:

Looking good! You are using a colorful palette and the render is efficient on a dark star background. It has a "serenity" flair to it, imho. I like a lot the "moving" or "shooting" star effect you added to the galaxy to give it both a sense of move and of 3D.
    I'm watching with interest!

Looks great! Is that a Death Star in the bottom left solar system?

I need a way to measure distances though. From the outer rim to the center of the galaxy, how many day's marches if I travel there by foot? ^^

    Thanks Rongar
The metal planets are for sure inspired by the death star, but i've took some pictures of the game planetary annihilation for those. I can already feel labels, and as you mention scale are gonna be a long work on this map!
Here's an update with one more star system and a black hole. Not really sure how to depict a black hole, feel free to share ideas about that if you have some

Very nice. You know, I wanted to suggest a layout quite like this, where the solar systems are more separated both from each other and from the galaxy itself. My idea was to place them in a large border frame but yours works great, too.

I'm not into SciFi - strictly fantasy RPG - but this is good stuff!
