    Default My Inktober 2017 Maps

    Hello everyone!

After my Westeros Map (https://www.cartographersguild.com/s...ad.php?t=36710) i'm happy to be back on this great forum, offering something else of mine.
This year i finally decided to man up and partecipate to the Inktober 2017 challenge: every day a drawing for the whole month, done with inks!

Since i wanted to practice more with maps and cartography, i chose to use this as a good excuse to practice a bit.

That's the result so far. More to come, in fact another 25 drawings are due.

If it's not a problem, i'll keep posting the new pieces every day or so, and suggestions from the community are very well appreciated!

    Thank you!

I always love seeing these challenges, especially when a competent artist tries one out, which you most definitely are! The toll bridge piece is especially fantastic.

    Yeah, keep posting for sure!

Thank you Diamond! I really have to learn a lot more in cartography before defining myself competent, but thank you!
I'll do more purely architectural maps in the coming days..... but not today :

today's map theme is SHY: a small and hidden temple in the jungle!

I never did that much of vegetation, and i still have to experiment and learn. Still, rather happy.

As a side picture, the "original" hand-drawn sketch, with the blue lines of the perspective aid (a CAD sketch) and additional blue lines for the vegetation outline:

These maps are incredible! And I agree with the others, you have to be anything but lazy to make one of these every day.

Thank you for your kind comments! these really boost my will to make it to the end of this month in one piece!!

Today's map was a bit of a quickie, i didn't have much time but i wanted to try something new - rocky formations. I can't say i'm super-happy, but still.

Today theme is Screech. It was a good chance to try some more treelines, and i went for this burnt effect. Took ages to do all the branches, but the chaotic result have its good effect, i think.
A little more text than usual, too.

Oh, nice one. I like the big birds standing around - are those the screechy-beasts?
