Map The Hillfort of Ashben (Commission)

My most recent illustration. This is Ashben, a fortified settlement built on a hill. It features two dry moats as defensive measures. The aartivle describes some background lore about the town and some NPCs and some adventure ideas.

I created this illustration with Photoshop and my Wacom drawing tablet. I really love drawing cartography and all my work gets funded by awesome supporters on Patreon, you can check out my page here https://www.patreon.com/elventower

Ashben's background lore and adventure ideas are here https://www.elventower.com/archives/2088

I've been thinking of doing a hill fort map recently so this one is some great inspiration. Your map turned out really well!

Looks great. The overall layout reminds me a little of Old Sarum which had similar defences.
My new Deviant-thing. I finally caved.

Very nice work, Derek! Clean and efficient. I like the inset with the profile view a lot.
The way to label it is a bit too modern for this kind of map, but it's a minor point and purely a matter of taste (it's efficient anyway).

Lovely work. The colors and shading are really nice.

I have to chime in with the general tenor here: clean and efficient, a nice map.

You are correct, the person who commissioned it provided images of Old Sarum as reference.
