I'm having a lousy morning. Wine, port and bourbon are probably responsible for that though. There I was just sitting there, minding my own business, and they leapt right down my throat!

I'm doing what I normally do on Boxing Day - listening to music that reminds me of things gone by.

Had an unusual childhood. I was the only one in 3 generations who didn't play the piano.

Here's a recording of Liszt in Rhythm played by the then very famous piano duet, Rawicz and Landauer.

Though I am almost embarrassed to admit it, this is the music that powers my heart at this time of the year, since it was the sound most usually being played at Christmas time when I was still young enough to believe in Father Christmas - both on the record player, and for real by my family...

I have a perfect audio memory of standing right by the piano, all 3'6" of me and ear-level with the strings, being very nearly deafened by the vibrations
