Thank you! I never expected to make sci-fi maps. Although I don't know why, I was/am a huge sci-fi fan. I even went to Star Trek conventions as a kid.

Thank you, Diamond! I'm still in happy shock that you mentioned Atlas Awards w/r/t my Guildworld sci-fi map.

FINALLY found an outer glow that works both far away (sorta) and up close. I hope to be able to fix the Tokyo inset box spacing; Photoshop is currently throwing a fit and freezing my computer.

Phew, this came down to the wire! I managed to force Photoshop to behave.

I couldn't decide which dystopia to map, and I like the idea of the multiverse, so I decided to map a variety of dystopias that take place on Earth. In addition to the named dystopias, I have a lot of references tucked away in the map. I used the outline of the mockingjay pin from The Hunger Games, and the green text pays homage to some additional dystopian stories by using character names as random text. The green text also references Lost, which I guess is dystopian in a way. Mostly I just like to sneak in the Lost numbers and, in this case, the coordinates for where Charles Widmore downed a fake version of Oceanic Flight 815. The font is Conthrax. Map was hand-drawn in Photoshop on a Wacom Intuos tablet.

There challenge entries this month are amazing! I feel honored to have competed with you all!

One of the most fun things about this map is going "oh hey, I know that!"

*edit* In the text boxes, I think you should change the vertical spacing of the run-on text (ie: A Clockwork Orange) so there is at least one or two pixels of negative space between them. It looks too bunched up otherwise.
