Help How to do Rivers in GIMP

So I'm doing an atlas of a fanciful world on GIMP and I would like to know if there is a randomish way to create rivers 1 pixel on my map is ~4.5 miles and it is 5500x2750 so I would like to at least do major rivers on my map and I am having trouble figuring out how any resources/tools would be greatly appreciated also on an unrelated note what major biomes do you all put on your maps?

You might take a look at this thread.

Also, there are a number of tutorials on how to go about placing biomes in the Tutorials/How to and the How Do I areas. With a bit of digging around in them I'm pretty sure you will find what you seek.

    Happy hunting!
