New to CC3. How do I create a whole world?

I am very new to CC3. I bought it last night. I do not see it as looking that complicated. However, I am having one very major issue. I cannot seem to make a large map to build a world. I can only make a map to build a single continent. I have tried making large dimension when it prompts me what size to make the picture. Even when I do that, the map size is not very large. The icons can scale down. However, the island cannot because the border will stay large. I tried to mess with the settings. I think it was the "draw size" or something under "file." (not at my PC right now). That produced the strange image that I attached to this post. If I cannot resolve this issue, I will have to refund before the time expires to receive a refund.
