Thread: Black and white family island map commission

Post Commission for fantasy island map

    Taken

I am making an antique-style island map inspired by my family's names that I plan to hang in my home for personal use. I have 4 primary regions, and would like some transitional elements between them. I mocked up a rough example of what I'm looking for, but the transitions between areas are definitely not there:

Scale accuracy is not a concern, and I am looking for some creative freedom in the shape of the island and overall layout (this is just pieced together from existing maps). The only picky detail is the choice of trees (Hazel trees on the bottom right, and Linden trees on the top left). Also the crest in the top left is an actual family crest, so that would need to be drawn based on existing references.

    Style

I would like the map to be black and white, in a style similar to these examples:

As you can see I really like a more hand-drawn look. I would prefer raster so that it looks as close to "real" or pen-and-ink as possible, even if it's digital.

    Quality & Size

I am open to varying levels of detail/quality based on any portfolio examples that I can see beforehand. I ultimately print and frame this at 20" x 30" (landscape orientation) so 300 dpi at that size should be good.

    Commission

I am happy to pay $200 for this commission, including half up-front. PayPal likely works best, or if you are US-based I could use Venmo.

    Time Constraints

This is a Christmas present, so I would need it by mid-December so I can have time to frame it.

    Copyright

Personal use only. I would be fine to have it shown on the designer's website as well.
