Mar-May '22 Lite Challenge: Doronúrnen

Heyho!

This is the first challenge I'm taking part in and I hope something nice comes out of it. I thought it would be an interesting idea to use the shape as the basis for a settlement. The white around would be forests and the one in the middle would be a river.

Normally my elven towns are rarely located in forests, but this one, Doronúrnen (Shadow Spring), does fit the common cliché.

Welcome! These challenges are great in pushing your skillset and learning new things along the way. Trust me, I know. Hehe. It's a little inside joke since I always choose a hard map when I do one of these challenges.

On to the map concept, cool idea! I like it. And I think is GREAT to see you start early with the roads, this really is a good way to set up this type of map.

The trees are a lot of work, but atleast I've finished the contour lines of the northern part of the forest.

Thank you! The trees are now finished (fast than I expected!) and soon I'm going to colourise everything. Aaand I have to add a lot of small details.
